.first day.

It was a big day in the Lein house today as our Adelyn had her first day of Kindergarten. She did awesome and I did...pretty good :)

I shed a few tears, a few different times throughout the day...I have to admit, I was lonesome for her - 5 years has just gone by so quickly and it always seemed like I had a while before this day came!

She got on the bus like a big girl -- I then drove to the school to meet her and walk her inside (and so I could take pictures, that's my excuse, but to be honest, I just had to make sure she was ok!) -- I wanted to drive her but Kris thought it was best to get all the scary new stuff out of the way, right away. He's smart so I listened.

All in all, her day was great! (Minus the boy who kept kicking her and made her cry...GRR! Those must be some proud parents to get a note home on his very first day of school ever!)

I hope all your babies, big and small, had a great day back to school as well!

Adelyn Adelle,

I'm so proud that you belong to me. You're so beautiful, outwardly but more importantly, you have a beautiful heart & sweet soul. You're kind, smart, funny, creative, and the coolest 5 year old I know. Watching you grow up has been amazing.

The best advice I can give you is what my own momma always told me: Just be nice to everyone, no matter what. People aren't going to remember if you had the coolest stuff, scored the most points on whatever team, were the prom king/queen...none of that stuff matters. They'll remember how you treated them and how you made them feel. JUST BE NICE.

xoxo Momma

*I love her face running towards me, both when she gets off the bus at the school and at the end of the day. :) I realized after this post, even if NO ONE else likes my work, it would be worth it just for this. Documenting times like these to have for my girls when they're older is priceless.*
