.the beauty of love as it was made to be.

Love that will not betray you, dismay or enslave you, it will set you free...

I've witnessed love many times. Old love & new.

I've never witnessed love like this. Such a beautiful, deep, true love that you can see in their eyes & in their smiles.

I could feel it pouring from their souls...

...yes, I'm a complete and utter sap right now. Listening to "Sigh No More" by Mumford & Sons (listen to it!) while I put this storyboard together has brought it out in me I guess.

Moving on...

I've known of John since I was a little freshmen in highschool when we both stood in the same wedding. My aunt, Rebecca, married his brother, Jay. I've seen him a handful of times since then and he's one of the nicest guys ever.

John & Christina live in Florida and were up here visiting at Jay & Rebecca's lake house before venturing off to spend time with family in Minnesota and then heading to Haiti for a mission trip. John mentioned to Rebecca that he planned to propose and Rebecca came up with the idea to have me capture the proposal so she called me last minute to see if I could possibly squeeze it in to be up on top of Sugarloaf where he planned to take her for a hike. I obviously couldn't pass up the opportunity!

I hiked up and waited for them to arrive. My heart was pounding as I waited anxiously. Christina and I had never met so I just looked like a lone lady taking pictures of the scenery. They arrived at the top, John & I made eye contact and exchanged a smile and I waited...

Christina was so cute and excited as she took in the beauty around here unaware of what was about to happen. She asked John to snap a few pictures of her and they took a few of themselves. He then told her to, "Stand right here..."

I started snapping as he got down on one knee and it was then that they planned to spend the rest of their lives together...

After many kisses & hugs Christina realized I was taking pictures of THEM as she opened her eyes and I was pretty much in her face! (the image where she's looking straight at me)

...the very next day, Rebecca called me again. They wanted to know if I could do an engagement session before they left. Of course, I couldn't decline or let anyone else be the one to capture this love.

Thank you Rebecca for giving me such an awesome opportunity & thank you to John & Christina for being so awesome! I will see you again! xoxo Kaley
